My Creative Story

My Creative Story

It seems hard to believe that nowadays I call myself an artist.  It is true that I have always found a way to create things but usually in a more physical form of wood or metal working.  I always wanted to paint.  In second grade my art teacher, who must have just been having a very bad day, made fun of what I had done in front of the whole class.  I hated art after that and usually sat in the back of the classroom.  Life went on and I would stop and admire the fine paintings of the real artists but always there was a longing to create in oil on canvas.

When I was 49 years old I was gifted a set of oil paint, some brushes, and an easel.  It was scary but I had been watching Bill Alexander from the 1980's on Youtube so I decided to take a chance and see if the paint would hold its color if I put it on the canvas.  Over the years since then painting has become an amazing creative outlet and I have found that you are never to old and it is never too late to start something new.

Alaska will likely always influence my paintings in some way as I spent 37 years living there flying small airplanes over most of the state.  I also have a deep faith in Jesus Christ and this will also continue to greatly influence my work as a creative.  In fact, nearly all of my art is produced during times of worship.

My goal is to provide high quality original artwork here as well as fine art prints and other reproductions, and that what you find here will bless your home.

Here are some of my favorites from the past.

Arctic Noon - Winter above the Arctic Circle

Where The Light Shines

Cloaked in Mystery
