While Storm Clouds Gather

The pictures seen in nature are often so representative of the things we experience in life, much like the forming of a storm.  Sometimes we see the clouds shaping up like it's going to be a doozie of a storm.  Then the whole thing dissipates before it gets here or its course is altered and it passes by without even a breath of wind.  Still, the gathering of the storm clouds causes us to pause and begin to prepare for the threat that the possibility of the storm imposes.  

This painting evokes the emotion of the pending storm.  It is the human experience.  It is not the experience of nature because the rock is just going to stand in the storm and the trees and bushes will bend and some will break.  Emotional response belongs only to humanity and we all have our response to the gathering of storm clouds depending on the circumstances of our life.  For some it is the thrill of the storm, for others there is a weathered stillness and, with complete disregard for the feelings in your soul, soon it will be raining heavily.
